Wanna-be-Rock Chic

So i was thinking of a look and i got a suggestion from a fellow Makeup Artist to go rock and I have never  done a dark look on myself, because i  feel i am really dark and i may not pull it off well. This is my journey to being a rock chic. Wanna be Rock Chic...LOL

With my hair styled and no make-up

On my face i used MUD cream foundation in GY2 to highlight and GY3 to contour. I also used concealer on my brows to make them super thin, instead of covering them totally to do a pencil lined brow. Sacha loose powder in Perfect bronze to set the foundation.

This is the full look with the camera flash

Without the camera flash

I used a single eye shadow from Sacha called Black all over my eyelid, i used an eye pencil to line the inner rim of my eyes and also the lower rim of my eyes. Used the highlight in the Sleek contour kit for my brow bone.

Making Face, Camera flash in my eyes

Just felt good sticking out my tongue

I also used the Black eyeshadow to darken my temples and under my cheekbones.

Testing the photo editing software on my picture....

So now if i ever need to go rock i have a baseline i can start with. Seriously thinking of rocking my super thin brows once in a while.

Hope you have a nice day and feel free to drop your comments.....

Barbie has locs

Okay i have been watching a lot of Barbie cartoons lately and decided that today i would do a doll look but the type i could walk around with and not have everyone wondering whether i was off to a  costume party. So i used purple and pink and since i have my locs hence the title Barbie has locs.

Yep this is me without a makeup...
So i decided to take a pic of me without makeup. Maybe so the transformation is more appreciated

A swatch of Sacha Kamaflage liquid foundation
This is a swatch of 2 shades of sacha liquid foundation the lighter colour is Perfect spice and the darker  colour is Perfect bronze. Sacha liquid foundation is a bit thicker in consistency than the average liquid foundation and also had concealing properties. Very little goes a long way and if you use too much it tends to have a cakey feeling. You can check their full range of products on www.sachacosmetics.com and yes it is available here in Nigeria.

With my eyes lowered I have pink inside and purple in the outer corner and contour area

I also used the a hot pink and purple colour from the Sacha 14 colour palette (bright) and i used ardell lashes (scanties black) i cut the lashes into 2 because i wanted the winged effect at the end of my eyes. I used the lighter shade of foundation for under my eyes and around my mouth and at the center of my forehead and then used the darker shade (which blends into my complexion) for the other parts of my face. Black opal invisible oil blocking powder was used to set the foundation. Lipstick and blush from my Fraulein 38 lip and blush palette.

If you want to know more about how to get sacha products feel free to let me know.

I hope i was able to be Black Barbie with locs. i felt like a doll today. Feel free to drop your comments.

A friend's wedding

Since I became a makeup artist I have not really participated or attended any weddings apart from going to do makeup for the bride and finding my way out once the bride is in the car. Well all that was about to change when I went for a friend's wedding. the traditional marriage held in Uyo while the white wedding was in Owerri and I was able to have some insider's information.

Although my friend Ama and I had been talking on phone, facebook and Blackberry chat we had actually not seen ourselves since we left secondary school which was in 1994 (that is a lonnngggg time)..She had no idea i was the one doing her traditional makeup and she was expecting a Bunmi so imagine the squealing and screaming and jumping and hugging as her sister introduced her to Bunmi (eyes rolling).

Okay i am yapping too much. Let us get on with the pictures.LOL

Making the headpiece

The back of the head piece. AMAZING
Unfortunately i was not able to get a good picture for the traditional wedding makeup but as soon as i can i will definitely upload it. Lemme say i had a swell time at Uyo and the next day we packed up our baggage and started heading to Owerri. It was raining all through the trip but we arrived in very high spirits because the countdown had begun...

A small makeover i did for my friend a day before the wedding.
The night before the wedding we went about putting sugar almonds in little nests that would be set up on the table as well as making sure everything was working according to schedule. I am ashamed to say i slept off and had absolutely no idea when the goodie bag was packed. But in my defence i needed the sleep because i had to get up really early and prepare.LOL

The sweet almonds in their nest (yummy!!)

The gazebo (beautiful!!) Those are real flowers

Chocolate (double yummy!)

this is me fooling around the gazebo the night before

Where the couple sat during the ceremony for the vows

So you have had  a preview of what an insider was able to see. we now move to the wedding ceremony itself. Let me at this point say that it was a very intimate and nice wedding. i felt like we knew everyone in the hall and i want to give a BIG THUMBS UP to the bride and groom for making it that way. Not once did a bridezilla moment happen(well i think...LOL)

The Fusion Lifestyle Wedding Fair

On the 10th of September 2011 the Fusion Lifestyle wedding fair was done in Abuja at the BMO Events Arena. This is a large tent and the fair was designed to look like an actual fair was going on. This is the first time i ever participated in any exhibition or fair and i can say i enjoyed it a lot. There was great music and lots of freebies and food to eat.  I really wish i had taken a picture of the chocolate fountain (YUMMY)
