Now accepting online payments

Earlier in September, we started offering the option of booking online. Now we are accepting online payments. This is how it will work. When anyone books for a service we will request your email address and send an invoice which will have a payment link.. This payment link will take you to the Interswitch gateway where you will be able to pay for the service. Please note that we will be sending an invoice of at least 50% payment for the service. We are so excited to be offering this payment platform to our clients. Don't forget that we also accept direct bank transfers, cash or using the POS machine at the studio. If you follow us on Twitter and Facebook you would have noticed we have eyelash growth serums for sale. Feel free to call us on 08179968691 for more details on it. I am a huge fan as i can already see the differemce in the lashes after the use of the growth serum in one week. Look out for a blog review soon.

New service now available - LASH LIFT

Drum roll........

Announcing a new service at Yazi's place. It is known as the Lash lift.

If you have downward facing lashes , the lash lift will give a lift to your natural lashes by adding a curve to it. Also recommended for extra curly lashes (the type that have a mind of their own and grow in different directions).

This treatment does not need extensions as it separates and gives a nice curl/lift to your own natural lashes. You can decide to have a tint afterwards and you can also use mascara on the lashes.

As with all our services, your eyes are always closed during the treatment and it takes 30 - 45 minutes to complete.

I was able to do a fellow colleague's lashes.. She has very short and curly lashes and we normally wear extensions for her. She was very happy with the final result and so was I. For enquiries call us on 08179968691/08054145929 or add our bbm channel C0031C40C or just search Yazi's place on the channel list.

In other news we got a Glamcor kit at the studio...yay!!!! Now i don't have to worry about adequate lighting for both studio and mobile services. Having used the lights this is a great addition to my kit for doing lashes, eyebrows and makeup application.

Hygiene in my workplace

Do you worry about hygiene when visiting a beauty professional? It is something i think about whenever i need to attend to my clients. You never want to leave people thinking they might get an infection from you. Do you?

It is so great that cosmetic companies are now making products geared towards this now.

My hands are my primary tool. I always wash my hands before I start working. I do have hand sanitizers but nothing beats giving your hands a good scrub with soap and running water.

Seeing that i do lashes, brows and make-up, my next tools are brushes and tweezers.

Brushes
For my brushes i use different sets of brushes for people and these must be clean (I had this drummed in my head since during my certification course at the London school of Beauty and Makeup).

Tweezers
My tweezers are first scrubbed then disinfected before i keep them back in their case. I also have the alcohol swabs to clean the tips just before i start working. Since i may not have time to wash one set of tweezers when I have a lot of clients, I have several tweezers that i can go through.

During the eyelash/eyebrow services I use disposable cotton buds, eye patches and mascara wands.

Last, but not the least i always give my trolley case and massage bed with a scrub down with bleach.

If "cleanliness is next to Godliness", then it is a public good to be hygienic.

I like to think my hygiene preparedness is part of the reason why i have not had anyone complain of reactions during their treatments.

On that note i leave you with a picture of one of my clients this week.

Things you need to know about lash extensions

Hello everyone...
When people hear semi permanent lash extensions I always get asked questions so I will try and answer below

Q1. What is the process like?
Ans. The technique used is isolating one lash and attaching a single lash to your natural lash. The client will be lying down comfortably with eyes closed. The lower lashes will normally be taped down with an under eye pad.

Q2. Does it hurt?
Ans . No it should not hurt you. I even encourage my clients to have a little snooze if they wish.

Q3. How long does it take?
Ans. It should take between 1hr 39 mins to 2hr 30 mins dependin on how fast the lash tech is or how full your lashes are.

Q4. Do the lashes feel heavy?
Ans. No they feel like your own natural lash because depending on how thick or light your lashes are... there are different lenghts and thicknesses to suit you.

Q5. Why are they called semi permanent lashes?
Ans. Every lash goes through a normal cycle and sheds off while a new one grows in that place. This is why it is called semi permanent.

Q6. Will it hurt my natural lashes?
Ans. If not fixed properly yes it could so make sure anybody fixing lashes for you knows cares about your eyes  and is not about making quick cash.

Q7. Whenever I fix lash extensions I feel it has chopped off my lashes?
Ans. You are now used to seeing longer more glamorous lashes and don't forget they are longer than your natural lashes

Q8. How long does it last?
Ans. After 3 weeks you will notice it is not as full as before. I tell my clients to come in for refills not later than 4 weeks. If put for a special occasion you can alow it shed naturally or come back and have the lashes removed professionally. Please do not pluck!

Q9. How do I care for the lashes?
Ans. Wash it gently, pat to dry, no rubbing the eyes, if u sleep on your face u might need an eye masks. ....no oily substance around the eyes.

Q10. Will I need to use mascara ?
Ans. You can use an oil free mascara but I tell my clients they dont need mascara
If you have more questions you can ask in the comments section and I will answer you as well as update this post.

MY TOP 5 BEAUTY SUMMER MUST-HAVES

My Top 5 beauty summer must-haves

Summer is the hottest and warmest time of the year. Check out my top 5 beauty summer must-haves:

1. Sunscreen: With the sun out you definitely need to protect your skin against the harmful rays. I always make sure my SPF face cream is 15 and above. Make sure you rub it on a few minutes before you plan to go out.

2. Brow powder: I like using brow powder to fill in my brows when i want to go for a more natural look.

3. Lash extensions: Since i don't want to worry about mascara running or smudging i love love lash extensions, they open up your eyes and give you a more youthful look.

4. Pedicure: Most people are wearing peep toes shoes and sandals during summer. You definitely need to pamper those feet to feel soft and nice.

5. Primer: face primer or eye primer, if you want your makeup to last longer in the heat then you need these in your arsenal.

Enjoy the summer. Be natural, be beautiful, be you!

Please note all pictures were picked from the internet apart from the lash extension which is my personal picture.

EYEBROW ARTISTRY - MY BAI EXPERIENCE

Hi everyone! it has been ages but I am back for real! Seriously! If you have missed me on my blog i really hope that you have not missed me on the internet especially on my face book page.

Quick reminder you can find me on these various platforms twitter (omegiee), facebook (yazisplace), instagram (omegiee). To have a personal chat you can try our bbm channel C0031C40C.

Now going back to the topic, While I was away from my blog but not away from the internet, I came across the work of students of a brow course. Their work was really exceptional and so natural and beautiful. While contacting the school I found out they were launching an online course. I communicated with the founder and immediately loved how passionate she sounded about her course.

Thus began my journey with the Brow Artist International. Their course is so thorough but what really amazed me and still does is the follow up and feedback made available for the graduates is amazing. I have begun to look at the brows in a totally different form. I am glad to be part of a network of highly skilled and passionate brow artists worldwide.

I just completed my practicals and written tests and really look forward to getting my certificates.

Find below some pictures of brows done since i became a student of the course(this is not semi permament or permanent makeup). I look forward to getting clients who are interested in getting the full potential of their eyebrows. You can call 08179968691/08054145929.
